Player A is a contemporary jazz group that features some of the top studio session players in the Nashville, TN area. While Nashville is certainly known for it’s country & gospel music industries, music publishing, and famed Music Row, Music City also boasts the last bastion of consistent studio work for quality players, as well as some SERIOUS jazz talent.

While known to the music world and artists who may live and work here, such as Michael McDonald, Vanessa Williams, Kenny Loggins, Larry Carlton, and Victor Wooten, these session players have mainly flown under the radar to the national and international audience.
Producer Eric Copeland brings together the top names in Nashville’s studio session world like bassists Gary Lunn, Craig Nelson, and Danny O’Lannerghty, guitarists Mark Baldwin and Tom Hemby, and drummers John Hammond, Brian Fullen, Scott Williamson, Dan Needham (as well as over a dozen more players) showing the world the jazzy side of their amazing talents.
Player A’s first CD “Our Own Devices” was released nationally in May of 2011, with a national radio and promotional campaign of the single “Coming On” marching directly into the Top 30 of the Smooth Jazz chart.
Their EP “Devices, Techniques, & Mechanisms” is a six-song set of new tunes and remixes of some from “Our Own Devices”.
In 2020, Player A released “Sand Dollar in My Suitcase,” a Michael Franks-inspired album of song celebrating the beach and Florida.
Now in 2025, Player A is back with their latest single “The Windmills of Your Mind,” releasing everywhere April 4, 2025!
